1-on-1 pottery classes in Coimbatore

After I came back home in April, I started conducting pottery classes, and the response has been wonderful so far. Almost every day, there is a student in the studio, learning. This has given me even more motivation to show up every day and do the work and guide them.

I had my reservations last year, but something changed after my trip to Maharashtra at the start of this year, where I learnt to build a kiln and built one with a friend on his property.

This has given me confidence in my skills as a potter and a professional. Initially, I wanted to do just my own work, but it is very hard to generate momentum looking inwards. Bringing in students to the studio has also taught me a lot about the whole process.

At the same time, I don’t do this commercially. At most, I can take in three students in my studio, and I would like to keep it that way. Many people who enquire ask if I offer 1-on-1 pottery classes, and the answer is yes, it will be personalised, and I will spend enough time explaining the concepts to each student.

People want to spend their time in a calm environment without distractions and with few people moving around. Studio Genki will always be a place that offers this.
