Coffee Mug, Khakhi Glaze

This cup is hand-made, gas-fired in a reduction atmosphere to get this effect. This is a variation on the traditional Khahki glaze, which has 12% iron oxide. This provides its characteristic metallic sheen.

Reduction firing is a special technique that requires a high degree of precision to get correct results.
