Drip Mug 01 – Crackle Celadon

Not all drips are created equal. This mug was by far the best of the lot from the past making cycle. It has a really nice drip below the handle. The Celadon glaze works exceptionally well with this light clay body and the chattering effect at the top of the mug.

Everything has to go right to achieve this result: the amount of glaze applied, the position in the kiln and the amount of reduction. The thick layer of the Crackle Celadon glaze comes to a halt above the foot, creating a drippy effect, and the mug appears to be in constant motion. You can see a denim-like visual in some spots of the mug where the glaze has pooled.

The iron speck on the side of the handle also adds to the character of the mug.

While the piece was created as functional ware, it deserves a place on the shelf where it receives ample light.

Care Instructions

• Hand washing is recommended.
• Avoid dishwashers, microwaves, ovens, and direct flame.
• Please be sure to wipe with a towel after washing.

Each piece is handmade, so slight variations in size, shape, and glaze may occur even within the same design. These characteristics are part of the individuality of hand-crafted pottery. You may notice natural glaze flows, small dots or bubbles, gentle warping, or subtle kiln marks at the foot. These are not defects but inherent traces of the firing process that make each piece unique. For these reasons, returns are not accepted.

These mugs are glazed with crackle glaze and will stain over time. The body has a porosity of ~0.4%, making it food safe.
