Round Vase – Speckled White

A hand-thrown round vase, fired in a gas kiln in a reduction atmosphere. The vase is glazed with an opaque speckled white glaze. The speckles are seen on multiple locations of the vase, as shown in the gallery.

The vase was glazed using the pouring technique, so pouring marks can be seen throughout the body of the vase. Since the stoneware is rich in iron, it turns dark in reduction firing and acts as a nice contrast to the glaze.
