Wood Fired – Celadon Vase

This is a wood-fired vase glazed with celadon. The celadon glaze turns green only in a reduction atmosphere. This is fired to cone 10 (approximately 1290 °C) over 8 hours. The black dots on the clay body are iron particles that rise to the surface during reduction firing, creating a rustic look.
